ATC Ten Tors 2011

Another successful one for the Sqn. Six cadets from the Sqn started the event and they all finished. The Sqn’s own 35 mile team, consisting of Cadets Lockyear, Young, Cooney & Creer (plus two Cadets from 41F Taunton Sqn) completed route F by 10:39, the second fastest team on that route.

Cpl Tom Cranmer, walking with the D & S Wing Team finished the 45 route & Cadet Warrant Officer Tom Hunt completed the 55 mile event, again with the Wing Team. It was a particular success for Tom as he only joined the Squadron from the Midlands at the end of last year and had never heard of Ten Tors (or seen a hill) prior to January. As ever training for this event this was a MASSIVE commitment for both Staff and Cadets. A special thanks to CI Rich Bellamy & his team of Sgt (ATC) Ben Stephens, CI Rosie Amato, CI Tommy Andrew (and CI Dunk Thomas in the background) for all their efforts this year…Fg Off Chris Power also chipped in a bit (but only for ½ weekends) ! Flt Lt Kevin Partridge also attended all the training in his role as an key organiser at Wing level.
